I created a door decoration for one of my children's homeroom teacher in honor of teacher appreciation week. The teacher loves elephants and roots for the NY Giants so the image of an elephant holding up a NY Giants helmet came to mind. She also very much identifies with her Italian heritage, so I created with construction paper the Italian flag and used a supposedly Italian font. Finally, since she is a science teacher, I included beakers of different colors and shapes with each students first name in the class. Since it is an outside door, and we do have weather from time to time, I did not invest a lot of time in details of the elephant, but I did spray it with fixative!
